Maureen Kang

Speech Pathologist

Maureen is a certified practicing Speech Pathologist and is currently registered with Speech Pathology Australia. Maureen received her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) from the University of Newcastle in 2019 and also holds a Bachelor of Speech, Hearing, and Language Sciences from Macquarie University.

Maureen has provided a variety of Speech Pathology services primarily within primary school settings with over 2 and a half years of experience working with Kindergarten to Year 6 mainstream and support unit students in 1-on-1, small group, and whole class sessions.

Maureen has provided evidence-based intervention focusing on the development of expressive and receptive language, phonological awareness, articulation, fluency (stuttering), and using AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). During her time within schools, Maureen has worked with clients with a range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down’s Syndrome, and Intellectual Disabilities.

Throughout her career, Maureen has worked collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Behavioural Therapists, Music Therapists, and Psychologists. In addition to this, Maureen is experienced in liaising with and providing education to teachers and support staff in order to provide client-centered and holistic intervention whilst also promoting the generalization of language and literacy skills.
